Tips-Fertilize one more time with a slow release right before Thanksgiving. Don’t mow your lawn as short as you can get it. That hurts the lawn and doesn’t pertect it from voles, and snow mold. Snow mold grows under leaves on the grass. It wont hurt the grass unless it sits there for months. Fall clean up is very important. It is the best time to fertilize and till your vegi/garden area. Blowing out you sprinkling system with a commercial grade air compressor prevents pvc pipes from freezing which causes cracks. It runs about $65 per yard or 9 valves or less. Anything over this is $65 plus $7 dollars per valve. Drip systems always freeze if not blown out. Make sure that the RPZ valve is taken inside and stored in a warm location. If you have a plastic rpz make sure that the valve handles are left open. Prune and hedge all your plants, perennials and trees except for all of the evergreens and roses. Prune the evergreens and roses early spring. Fire pits that we have installed don’t need to be covered.
